This weekend my partner and I were having a weekend away in the Market Rasen area of Lincolnshire.
We were on a walk through Willingham Woods on Saturday and came across an elderly gentleman stuck with his mobility scooter.
The terrain was not suitable for this and his wheel was stuck in a dip.
My partner had to lift the scooter out, help the man on let him move further down the trail before the way would be too unsuitable then lift the scooter over the worst of it then help the gentleman back on again.
This went on for some time until we got him on a more stable pathway.
He then insisted we carried on with our walk and assured us he knew his way from then on and would be ok.
He gave us directions to his house I think in Tealby, asking us to pop by for a cup of tea later in the day.
For the life of me I have no idea why we didn’t insist on staying with him!
After our walk my partner and I drove round trying to find his home to check he was ok but couldn’t find it.
We tried again Sunday morning but with no success.
Now this man was approximately 80 years old and said he lived in a bungalow near to his farm near the Tealby road, he said he lived alone having lost his wife in January after 57 years together. He said the turning towards his farm was near a picnic site.
I know this is a real long shot but I was hoping someone might know him and could tell me he was ok as I haven’t been able to stop worrying about him.
He seemed such a lovely man.
If it helps he had silver hair was smartly dressed and told us he was born in Derbyshire and was of a slim build. His mobility scooter was blue.
Thank you on the off chance if anyone can help.
