Should we not have had some storms by now? Where's all the evaporating water going?

There are none due in London in the foreseeable future. I checked the other day.

Storms are caused by instability in the atmosphere. The atmosphere is currently stable.

Massive band of thunderstorms in the channel and Irish Sea right now, down near Cornwall. Slowly working north east.

Its relentlessly hot this morning already here in Hampshire. Maybe if we all did a synchronised rain dance…

Weather person on GMB said there won’t be any thunder storms at the end of this hot weather.
it’ll just get cooler.

Just started raining in south Hampshire on the coast. Air temperature dropping finally!
Couple thunderclaps off in the distance the other side of the IOW.
