How's everyone getting on?

So far we've had paddling pools out in the shade but mainly kept the kids indoors. Its Summer hols here in Scotland and about 31 just now.

Did get all the bedding washed and dried though which is a plus. Just can't be arsed to put it all back on.

35 weeks pregnant with a very active bean just trying to not get too hot but struggling haha bring on Wednesday!

I'm looking after my daughters little dog and kept trying to go and have a little lie on my lounger out the back. Little miss cries to be out with me so I've been grounded it's too hot for her.
I'm pretty gutted I love hot weather but we have tomorrow yet ☀️
Not long before the winter and high bills so I'll make the most of it.
Hope everyone is coping ok.

It's 36 where I am currently.

My toddler is going stir crazy (even though we went to soft play and have been playing all day) and wants to go in the garden but doesn't understand why she can't so she is slowly destroying the house. House is a tip anyway because we're going away in a couple of days and I need to finish packing but I don't have the motivation in the heat as I'm also 17 weeks pregnant. Send help! 😂

We were doing Ok this morning. DCs in school and went swimming which was lovely, about ten am then sat under a tree for a bit in the afternoon.

Now back in out top flat and it is quite muggy now and unpleasant.

It's 37 in the shade at the back of the house, 40 in the sun at the front. Paddling pool out, feet in it. Can't face food but youngest is starting to get hungry...

BBC says it’s 38 here. Going in my car in a min and will post a picture as will easily be 45 in full sun on the drive, happened before. Currently 28 in the lounge with a fan and I can deal with that. Probably 30’s in the bedrooms. Haven’t spent much time outside, put the washing out (brilliant for getting loads dry!) and it was VERY hot in full sun.

Minimal cooking, just some potatoes on the stove - no oven. All non-essential electrics off. Windows and curtains shut since 10 when the temp outside was hotter than in. Looking after let’s to keep them cool and hydrated.

Have drank a lot of water but fully intend to have a couple of vino’s to help snooze. Ready for tomorrow…

Really struggling, I have MS, so been indoors, blackout curtains closed. Just hating the intense heat, tomorrow is going to be even hotter! Can’t wait for this weather to break.

Kids looked awful when I got them from school, so despite being completely against it a few days ago I’ve decided to keep them off tomorrow (school will authorise any absences). House is ok but we get the late afternoon sun so it’s slowly heating up for bedtime, not cooling down 🥵

Spaghetti hoops on toast, and chocolate ice cream with berries for tea, couldn’t be arsed with anything else.

Off to make up beds in random cooler rooms in the house in a mo!

Great. I love the heat. Been pottering in garden all day. Getting pool filled and ready for grandkids coming tomoro. They're sleeping over so doing bbq and sleeping in garden in a tent. It'll be drizzly and grey before long so I'm enjoying every minute plus I'm off work this week so win win 😊

Better than I thought, the indoors has stayed fairly cool but it was meltingly hot when I walked home from work. My prep was worthwhile as no cooking to do and the rooms cooler than they would have been if I had not kept windows shut.

Tomorrow could be bad I think in terms of infrastructure if today is anything to go by?

I haven't been able to sleep for my night shift which starts in an hour 😭
I was just lay in bed wide awake for 3 hours sweating.

I'm going to be spending the next 13 hours on a VERY hot delivery suite with no air con. Feel so sorry for women giving birth in this heat!

Sorry to hear some of you are really struggling in the heat.

I've been half and half with it today. It is really hot outside and i've been wary of the kids going out to play in the hottest hours and kept them indoors more.
But we've kept cool in the living room (which is at the back of the house in total shade thank goodness) with the fan and also got 3 loads of laundry done.
Older kids have had a bit more screen time than usual. Hoping it doesnt affect bedtime and they all go down ok.
1yo is having a bit of a moan just now.

Tomorrow will be much the same here looking at around 30 again. I know its hotter elsewhere but that is plenty hot enough for me. I definitely havent braved the car and wont tomorrow either! Would be like an oven I imagine.

Dh is also a nightshift worker. Hgv driving. So sleep is essential but he hasnt found it too bad today. Fan on and blinds in our room closed all day as its south facing.
