How to build tolerance to heat?

I have a chronic health issue which makes me verrrry heat intolerant. Stayed very cool today, drunk lots of water, but went into my garden in the shade just for a few mins right now and feeling very ill! I know this is exceptionally hot weather but it's very frustrating to be impacted this severely. Anyone else with autoimmune issues and heat sensitivity got any tips on how to safely build up a tolerance to it?

I used to be very intolerant to heat - actually I still don't like it much. But I got into cold swimming along with visiting a sauna, and the sauna has massively increased my tolerance for hot weather. Not sure I could've gone into the sauna without the cold swimming though, so I'd recommend both!

You need to build up your water intake several days in advance, not just start on the day. That makes your blood thinner and helps you cope with the heat.

Also, for quick relief try running wrists and feet under cool water.

Interesting, thanks! But I would have thought if a sauna enabled you to build up your tolerance to heat, I can maybe just build up my tolerance by...being in the heat?
