Can anyone advise on the cost of paving/a new patio?

We've just had a landscaping company quote for building us a new patio (we can't do it ourselves due to disability) and for a 30m² patio (including ripping up the old one and a proper base, all removal of waste etc) we've been quoted £6k. It's an Indian sandstone type paving. I got a bit of a shock when I saw the quote but I'm wondering if my expectations are way off and this is about the right money, or if that quote is high. We're in SE England.

Has anyone else had one put in recently and can advise?

Sounds about right to me. I paid about £4k a couple of years ago for similar area up north.

My best advice is get something other than indian sandstone. I hated it.

Sounds reasonable if your in the South. We paid the same for a similar sized patio last year in the Midlands.

I'm in South Yorkshire so a bit cheaper but mine cost £1400 2 years ago for 20 square metres. It's Indian sandstone with brick edging but I already had the bricks.. I had quotes up to £3k.

2-3k for 2 car drive

We paid £9k earlier this year for a similar size although that did include digging out a lot of earth and building a retaining wall. East Midlands

Sorry, I misunderstood the question. I don’t remember about the patio as it was part of kitchen re-modelling. Outrageous though, well over 5K just for that

Oh wow ok maybe it is around the right money!
