Really boring question alert!
I have just received a second hand fridge, am I supposed to plug it in and leave it for 24 hours?

Leave it to stand, not plugged in for a few hours. (4+) To do with gas settling, reduces noise later on, I was told.
Then plug in and leave overnight to get to temperature.

Whoops off to unplug I goGrin
I'm too excited to transfer the food over that's my problem (not that there's much 🤣)

We bought one second hand let it settle in the garage then left it for a day. Has been a boon. Mostly drinks and spillover BBQ food at the moment

I'm really excited as sad as it sounds.
Left a nasty git two years ago and within a week my fridge broke. My brother and a friend managed to find me a teeny one about 600 years old and it's coped pretty well but very very small.
And I've just bought this one from a neighbour and it's normal size! And clean! (The little one never quite gleamed bless it)
I actually can't wait not to play Tetris or jenga with my shopping Grin

We've always had a big fridge in the kitchen. About 15 years ago, it died under warranty, and because the manufacturer screwed up the paperwork, it took about two weeks for them to get us a replacement. So we went out and bought a small to medium-sized fridge and put it in the garage to tide us over. It was a really basic, inexpensive fridge. It's still running perfectly, and we had to replace the big one again a few years ago.

I love having two refrigerators. 🙂

I'd love a chest freezer tucked away as well.
Fridge is unplugged and gurgling Confused

I had a chest freezer ages ago and replaced it with an upright freezer. It's much easier to find things in the upright.
