Is anyone else working in inappropriate clothes in the heat wave?!

Both dh and I are in jobs wear we have to wear certain clothes, neither of which are suitable for this weather. He also has to wear a helmet!
Is anyone else dreading seriously sweating in their work uniform/clothing today or tomorrow? Can I have some solidarity please! 😳

I too have a 100% polyester sweatbag of a uniform and no air con. On the plus side, we don’t have to wear masks so I’m taking that win!

I will be tomorrow - taking a funeral - the mourning family wouldn’t appreciate my turning up in a sun dress rather than the full kit (Christian minister). I shall be putting on a sun hat for the after service gathering outside the crem, however,

Black chefs clothes including apron and hat.. not to mention that every way I turn there is heat from counters or ovens 😭

@Nocaloriesinchocolate👋 I am taking a funeral tomorrow too and I admit I am rather dreading wearing robes. Yesterday morning was a struggle but I think tomorrow is supposed to be much hotter.

If DH was working today (we're on annual leave) he would be wearing 2 fleeces and gloves in addition to his normal work clothes of jeans and a shirt...he works in the chilled/frozen section of a warehouse for one of the big food retailers.

Yep NHS uniform not designed to be cool in the heat or warm in the summer, and we are still wearing masks. Wish they’d let us wear scrubs for the day

I work in pathology so have to wear a lab coat and gloves which means my hands will be dripping in sweat.

Some of our labs have functional air con, the units are already leaking water everywhere so I doubt they will survive the heatwave. I can always go sit in one of the walk-in fridges to cool down but that will probably break too. It usually does when it gets a bit hot and we have to move everything to the mortuary - their fridges are more reliable.

Or warm In the winter that should say!

DH is a PC, he’s wearing a met vest which must be uncomfortable but I feel more sorry for the WPCs who have to wear a bra too.

You can get away with wearing very little under robes.... though the pocket slit used to make me unreasonably anxious, given the surplice on top!

And that's exactly the kind of attitude which is appreciated
