Do you think anyone woke up and was confused by lockdown?

Inspired by a film and subsequent conversation me and my friends had last night, we were pondering if anyone in the UK either living off grid or unwell woke to find the streets deserted and were really confused by lockdown/the pandemic. It must have been so terrifying but also surreal like a film. Anyone read any articles or seen any eyewitness reports like this?

My brother was a bit like this. I’m still not convinced he really knows what happened!

Like 28 Days later? 🤣 I don't think it was quite like that because there were still people in the hospitals etc.

But even back then I thought it was all very surreal. So can only imagine what it must've looked like to someone who didn't have a clue!

My friend works in a bank, they continued to stay open with reduced staffing & social distancing etc.

About half way through the second lockdown a couple came in and asked why the town centre was so quiet and why were all the shops shut, they had no idea what was going on!

A friend was like this, she had an accident and a head injury and when she came round had no memory of covid. Said she was really freaked out why the hospital staff talked to her from 6ft away and were wearing masks and surgical gowns. Why her husband wasn’t there. She said people kept apologising and saying “it’s because of covid” and when she asked them what covid was they just told her not to worry about it. She had to figure it out on her own because nobody would tell her!

There were few series of Big Brother being filmed - in Canada and Germany I think - where the contestants didn’t know until they came out.

Some of these must have been so scary. I had a cousin with addiction issues. He was well in covid, but several years ago, he totally missed Christmas and January. This was what added to our discussion

Exactly! That's what we thought, it was surreal when you knew what was going on!

Jared Leto was in a 2 month retreat somewhere off grid in California and came back right in the middle of lockdown.

Oh my goodness this must have been so, so scary. She must have thought she had something contagious at first

I know a lady with dementia who I had to explain it to everyday. In the end she just thought it was Sunday everyday, probably remembering back to when everything was closed on a Sunday so we just went with that.

We told my almost 4 yrs old at the tome the doctor told the world to shut up shops due to I being sick. That was the worlds calpol.
