What's your pointless preparation?

Putting my chocolate stash in the fridge.

I bought about 40 ice lollies, of which DP promptly ate 20 (and all the nice ones) before the heatwave had even started 😬

I have charged up my phone and bought a new fan, so that I can spend tomorrow and Tuesday mumsnetting in my underwear on the sofa in front of the new fan with all the curtains closed 👍

Also painted toenails, put those ice container things in the freezer to put in my lunch bag tomorrow, and filled 3 water bottles with water from the filter, and put in the fridge to take to work.
Will be calling into Aldi on the way in to get ice lollies for everyone.

Cleaned the kitchen and put off the bathrooms until it’s really hot…

Putting my water filled fan on constant, bought several long baggy T shirts, cotton leggings, a long cotton dress & chub rub shorts that I may be wearing with one of my long baggy t shirts tomorrow & Tuesday, nobody will see me & I want to be cool & comfy.

Also did a pedicure! Bought lots of ice lollies, cans of drink and bottles of water and a new gas canister for the soda stream (I don't use it but DC does).

I thought about buying another fan, but decided we'd manage (cheap skate).

No ironing until later in the week!

1. Bought a carrot cake in Aldi to avoid baking and put all chocolate in the fridge.
2. finished finally my bottle of gin - tomorrow will be too hot for drinking and we need space in the fridge for water bottles.
3. encouraged DD to take off old nail polish today to avoid smell in the house tomorrow.
4. Bought new decorations for the garden to make it prettier.

Got up at 5am to open every door and window in the house. It it now 18 degrees inside. I will shut them again at 7am ish when the outside temperature reaches this.

Ditto - I am sat downstairs with all the windows open and debating at what time it is acceptable to water the trees in the street. There are a fair number of people waking past already….

I have my lawn sprinkler all set up and may put on my swimming costume and dance about a bit in it when it’s super hot to cool down.

Made Lego man ice cubes.
Made more ice cubes using any suitable item including oven waffle tray.

Put water in the freezer for DC this morning to take to school.

Dug out the cooling towels for DC to take to school.

Moves my laptop charger downstairs so I can work in the coolest room of the house.

I've bought coke for my vodka later. 😁

I have chopped some watermelon into ice cube sized chunks and frozen them. Going to put some in my gin later.

I have shaved my legs.
