My marriage. Together since uni. Absolutely nothing to suggest anything was wrong. One day just says he has to leave. That was it, after 22 years. It’s been 5 years and I still wake up and think how?!

That would be a hell of a shock! @Lgakevd

I guess it would be my Mum's terminal cancer diagnosis when she was 66. She was healthy and had walked 12 miles 2 days before the diagnosis.

Yes but I can’t say what on here. However, the truth was I was extremely traumatised by certain events and hiding the truth from myself because it was too painful. Healed now thanks to counselling.

Know thyself and pay attention to signs

Surely this is only going to involve a lot of sad stories? I can think of a few, but they all involve a sudden unexpected death, including suicide. :(

OK, to give a positive one from years ago, an invitation to spend two months in the States with a friend. Flights paid for, and staying with her family so no food or accommodation costs.

She knew I'd got plans for the summer but suggested this instead, with payback being that I spoke my native language to her to help her improve. It was a great summer!

Yes, my husband dying. He got out of bed, walked into the living room and literally dropped dead onto the settee.

Yep. Primary school bullied me over Ds1's ASD. I got a solicitor in the end. Reading years of school files was a shock. I hadn't seen it. Felt a fool.
