What Xbox does your primary child have/use?

My ds is turning 9 and wants an Xbox (he hasn't asked for one because he knows it's expensive!) the newest model is £450 which seems absolutely insane for a 9 year old.

do most kids have this one? Or should I get him a second hand older
modle Xbox One maybe?

I don't want to get the series S because it's only digital so you can't buy second hand games from cex

My son is a bit older now but had the Xbox one when at primary school. It could be good to get that to gauge how much he’d actually use an Xbox. Depends on the price of them though I think whether they are worth it. The new models are ridiculously expensive but we did have the Xbox one for years so not too bad if it lasts quite a while

They've stopped making Xbox one, they're still making the games apparently but I'd be worried in case they decide to not bother.

Ds is saving up for as Xbox s, cheaper than the x and he reckons better graphics than Xbox one. Like you say the x is expensive.

The more i look into it the more confused I'm getting!
rbh he only really plays minecraft and sometimes Fortnite so it seems like the series S would be ok for that, he does have a switch but it seems to always have issues and just doesn't seem to work very well

Ds6 uses dh's xbox one. Will probably get old xbox one for Xmas. Ds doesn't care as long as he gets to play his favourite games.

Have a look at things like gamepass. If he wants to play online (fortnite with his classmates, not just some randos!) then you need Xbox live and it's not much more to pay for the Gamepass and then you get a lot of free games - mind you only some suitable for children. Mine has a series x (teenager) but he still prefers to get digital copies of games whenever I let him!
