Did you rent / had you bought when having your first baby? If you were renting, how old were they when you bought a house?

Yeah it was a long time after having kids. We live in London and struggled to save the deposit. It began to feel like a choice - wait to save up the deposit or be able to have children. I was 30 at this point and it looked like the deposit would take several years, and I was worrried I’d miss the boat re children and age.

We had 3, moved in with family to save up and then bought a property when the children were 3, 5 and 7. In retrospect it would have been a lot easier if we could have lived with family before children, but it wasn’t offered.

Bought our house when DD1 was 2 and I was pregnant with DD2. When we finally moved in DD1 was 3 and DD2 was 6 weeks old! Chaotic for the first few months to say the least 😅

I was 20 when I had my first. Bought at 27 when my kids were 7, 3 and 1. Delay was saving the deposit!
