Greek island sailing + sea sickness

I am looking into a Greek island hopping holiday because I love the Mediterranean. The trips I have come across so far are on a tiny boat, see diagram on this link: www.intrepidtravel.com/uk/node/6031

The website says waters will be generally calm in summer but obviously there may be some movement and sea sickness. I am concerned though by how much?

Has anyone been sailing on this type of boat around the islands, and if so, what was your experience? I have never had a problem with sea sickness before, but I unexpectedly experienced it on very choppy waters in Cornwall. So I am nervous!

Have you done any sailing at all? If so, try and have a day out before you book so you know what to expect.8 days is a long time if you’ve not had any experience.

That said, we’re looking at doing a similar route next summer and expect it to be pretty smooth most of the time. The Cyclades can be a bit windy so great for sailing. If your not sure, maybe try a different set of Islands such as the Ionian which are perfect for island hopping too.

Sea sickness is a funny thing. I’ve been on boats for years but have only had it twice. Sea sickness tablets work great, as do ginger biscuits. But you’ll be under sail, stopping off to swim and eat as you go. It will be fantastic and the scenery will be so lovely you’ll have plenty to take your mind off it if it does hit you.

For me, that kind of boat and the gentle bobbing motion would be the absolute worst for my sea sickness. I am fine on things like big ferries but smaller boars really mess me up.
