Just replying on another thread reminded me of some things I have learned in other countries, so what have you learned from other countries / cultures?
From Australia
If you are eating outside spray insect repellant on the underside of the tables. it keeps the insects away without contaminating your food.
When you have finished a boxed wine don't squeeze the inner bag, blow it up like a balloon, you will get another glass out. And you can actually keep blowing it up and inhaling the alcoholic air.
In hot weather keep your drinking glasses in the fridge. Ditto tinned food you eat cold, tuna, fruit etc.
From France
If you order coffee in France it comes with huge sugar cubes that take ages to dissolve, French people put the sugar in the cup and rest a teaspoon on it, when it has melted the spoon 'drops' this is when you stir your coffee.
From Italy
If you spill a glass of wine you dip your finger in and put it behind your ear like perfume - I don't know why, I think it is good luck or something, or maybe it is something they tell tourists.
Not a country or strictly speaking a culture but for left handers.
To open a bottle of wine hold the corkscrew still and turn the bottle.
