Hello, I've an IT question I hope someone can help with before Monday.
My previous employer gave me a laptop and I used to use it in my spare time on personal things, like backing up photos from my phone to a memory stick. I left that work a few months ago and returned the laptop, but have just realised that my memory drives are all encrypted now and I can't access any of the documents in there. It's encrypted by Mcafee looking at the error message.
I'm beyond devastated, mostly because all my children's baby photos are on there.
My husband is saying my previous work's IT team should be able to decrypt the drives by just giving me a password. Is this right?
I'd be grateful if anyone technical is able to opine and put my mind to rest, and I can't stop panicking about the thought of losing all my photos. Thank you.
