What does Sat night look like with you?

I'm lying on my bed on mn & listening to Natasha Devon on LBC with Dd1 (11) having a pool party/leavers sleepover with her besties before they go off to different secondaries very giggly in the lounge & dd2 (7) playing in front garden with her local friends. She struggles so much with friendships at school so it's so nice to listen to them out the window.
After a big group picnic and a bit too much sun - I'm very content with my massive glass of squash but contemplating a g&t.
Tell me about your evenings...

Absolute classic rock
takeaway ( either Chinese, Indian or kebab)
lager / cider. / wine
holiday planning
holiday reminiscing
lovely ‘castle in the sky’ chat about what we’ll do when we retire / win the lottery

Signoramarella · 16/07/2022 20:55

Glass of gary Barlow rose, on the settee, after 2 mile walk, watching Ozark! Ds 1 in the shower, ds 2 on the xbox.....

Oatsamazing · 16/07/2022 21:11

DD is sound asleep in bed, we finally visited the pub which is 3 doors down after a year of living here. She's 21 months and loved being on the bouncy castle with a few older kids. I've been working on the meal plan and shopping delivery due on Monday, now going to look at the new library book I got earlier '21st Century Girls - how the modern world is damaging our daughters and what we can do about it'. Then having an early night as I'm working tomorrow. DP is watching The Imitation Game downstairs and getting annoyed with me asking questions about what he would like to eat this week as he's 40 on Tuesday.

Love holiday planning @Thehouseofmanyrooms long haul/short haul? Soon/long-term plans?

Can't believe Gary Barlow makes rose @Signoramarella - how is it?

Breaking up arguments involving screaming siblings, watching rubbish on YouTube chosen by 10 year olds, cleaning up the kitchen. Glamorous life I lead 🤦‍♀️
I did have a gin and homemade peach iced tea earlier.

PermanentTemporary · 16/07/2022 21:13

I'm flipping between the sofa and the fridge with a small glass of wine, listening to a radio documentary about interfaith work in Norway. Ds is out probably at a mate's house. Rock and roll...

FuckingHateRats · 16/07/2022 21:15

G&T with a wedge of grapefruit, Peaky Blinders on TV and our puppy on the sofa.

Can't imagine anything worse than being 'out' now. I must be old at 36.

What does Sat night look like with you?

Ds is still awake (just now) so I compromised with him that he can watch (the most godawful boring livestream on) YouTube in the livingroom until he falls asleep if he would brush his teeth and put his pjs on. Once he's asleep I'll take him up to his bed and dh and I will do all the meal preping for dhs meals next week. Take about hour and a half all in.

I'll then go to bed myself. Knackered today after cleaning and food shop.

@Drywhitefruitycidergin

This years autumn break, looking at 10 days in Kos. Next year, 2 weeks in Corfu hopping from resort to resort.
Im 50 next year so what we are going to do for that. I’d like a few days in York.
Just lots of ruminating over where we’d like to go. Not enough annual leave to do all the things we want though!

liveforsummer · 16/07/2022 21:20

One just sent my 2 DD's to bed because everything they said or did caused arguments between them and I absolutely can't listen to it anymore without having a breakdown. They share a room so dd1 is sleeping in the living room to keep them apart and I've retired to my bedroom and will scroll my phone

Robin233 · 16/07/2022 21:34

Glass of wine 🍷 and a good film. (Interview with a vampire )
Dh fast asleep
Was at work this morning.

youngestisapsycho · 16/07/2022 21:36

At Ascot racecourse watching Grease at open air cinema with Dd20 🕺🏼

Alwayspaintyournails · 16/07/2022 21:38

Home from holiday yesterday so it’s been a day of laundry and now everyone’s sat discussing where to book next - it’s looking like a weekend the Lake District around September/October time.

TokyoTen · 16/07/2022 21:41

Adult DS are away, DH is in the jacuzzi in the garden - we decided to get it out the loft and blow it up this weekend. I had a long bath reading the New Scientist earlier. I also had a long conversation with my DMum earlier, she is in a home (which is loves) but has Covid so is confined to her room (otherwise she seems fine). It's quite peaceful at the moment and cool.

bloodywhitecat · 16/07/2022 21:43

I have been ironing the baby's clothes ready to pack and I am starting to compile a photobook with all the things that are important to them ahead of their move to their new family next weekend. I hate this bit of fostering. This little one will be the first one I have moved on without having DH to blub all over when they have gone but I know he would be incredibly proud of what we have done. This little one is going to go far in life.

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 16/07/2022 22:14

Sympathies to those dealing with siblings - heat & end of termitis are a hideous combo.
Loved open air grease @youngestisapsycho . Took my 2 to Blenheim drive in to see it.
Un-mn hugs @bloodywhitecat - what a terribly difficult time but how wonderful you are to give that baby a better start to life. Foster carers are amazing humans

In sleepover news they are very giggly & far too many sweets have been consumed - some of them have a class WhatsApp group so they're video-calling the boys.
I just told them I'd switch the WiFi off if I heard them calling after 10pm. I don't have the first clue how to do it - ex-h set it all up 8 years ago.....

I'm sat watching game of thrones. 3 younger dcs are in bed big one is at work then going out afterwards. We ask walked down to the pub at the end of our lane earlier and had dinner and I had 3 glasses of rose which have made me feel very sleepy!

tobee · 16/07/2022 22:38

Just finished watching the Vitality Blast cricket final! It was good fun and tense right to the end.

Got to clear up the dinner stuff in a sec; made poke bowls which involved lots of preparation and use of little bowls and big bowls that got left as I tried to serve in a hurry. Probably read my book after.

Dh just came in from kitchen saying next door have started up their very loud music; I expect the boys have got their friends round while parents are away. Could go on til the early hours and punctuated by much scent of weed and loud talking if previous events are anything to go by. Fortunately we're all adults in this house so no kids to be disturbed.

FreezyFreezy · 16/07/2022 22:53

Dc in bed (finally), dh and I are on the settee, sharing a bag of cheapo tortilla chips, playing on the PS4
