And what were they? Bit of a weird question but wondered, after reading the holiday keys, phone dilemma of where to put them, how often people have had things stolen.

I had my bag stolen as a naive 16 year old on one of my first ever nights out. I literally just left it on the chair 🙄

Similar to you OP my wallet was snatched out of my ridiculously open little shoulder bag in a pub in Kentish Town when I was 17. That had all my money for the weekend in it, I was devastated!

I’ve since travelled all over the world, been to festivals, gigs, parties on beaches… never had anything stolen since.

Greetings fellow Molko lover! I've only ever had books and clothes borrowed and never returned.

Choopi · 16/07/2022 20:30

I don't think I ever have? Maybe a pen in school or something but that's about the extent of it.

TuftyMarmoset · 16/07/2022 20:31

Once we had a bottle of milk stolen from the doorstep. But that’s it.

PuttingDownRoots · 16/07/2022 20:31

Purse nicked at a Christmas Market
Number plate from our motorbike stolen a couple of months ago

Hotenoughtoburnasausage · 16/07/2022 20:32

Once out with dc and dm. Someone stole dm's coat off the pram as they walked past!

CheesusWept · 16/07/2022 20:34

My brother’s a drug addict. He’s stolen cash and jewellery from me. He’d probably sell me if he had the chance.
I no longer allow him access to my property.

Therealpink · 16/07/2022 20:35

Money stolen from house a number of times. Pretty sure it was a childminder I had come every Sun morning for a while. It was upsetting. Kids whole money box with notes in it and an envelope to pay someone £100. Hasn’t happened since I got rid of her.

ShinyPikachu · 16/07/2022 20:36

This is going to age me but I once had a Walkman with a NKOTB tape in it stolen by a kid at my primary school. I had it in a bum bag at school that day and we had a Scottish dancing class so I left it at the side. I forgot about it as we left the class but I remember turning to look as if I knew I had forgotten something and there was nothing there. Sadly I know exactly which kid took it as he had been sitting at the side too and didn't dance once, we weren't that old when he was caught shoplifting too. Sad

Someone also tried to steal our milk delivery once but I caught them and got it back. Grin

Ooh!! Tell a lie. We had a cleaner once in my London house share… so many of my clothes went missing. Hoodies, a jacket, a beautiful jumper with a fox on it, a pair of top shop jeans… gutting. I asked her if she’d seen any of these things as they kept going awol after she’d been. She never came back the next week and nothing went missing after that.

My library card. I had left a tatty old coat in the back of my car and my library ticket was in a cheapo plastic folder in the pocket. Bastards broke my car window to get into the car and just took the plastic folder out of my coat pocket.

SpaceJamtart · 16/07/2022 20:39

My school bag by a guy on a bike when I was 7
My bike from the school bike shed when I was 11 (it was locked but they had bolt cutters)
I was mugged when I was 14, they took my phone
At a house party in a 'shoes off' house, someone walked off in my boots and left me their manky trainers when I was 17
Two break ins to my flat where stuff was taken, they were probably dissapointed as I didn't have anything good to take, but lost a kettle, my grandmas rings (only sentimental value) my rollerskates and any cash that was there.

Querty123456 · 16/07/2022 20:42

Yep loads, purse stolen in London, number plates stolen and used for a crime. Car broken into twice and lost significant amount of stuff both times. Crazy really because I live in a really quiet area and am usually very security conscious.

seaUrchinOne · 16/07/2022 20:43

Had by handbag stolen from my sons pram when he was a baby, left me stranded without my car keys, wallet, they went on a shopping spree with my card while I was frantically trying to get home with a young baby.

Years a ago when card numbers were printed on your receipt, some fucker, found my lost receipt and did some shopping using a phone and my card details.

A few times my card details have been hacked somehow, so keep a close eye on my statements now!

Once at a swimming pool with a friend, she lost the locker key, and yes whoever found it emptied our shared locker.

At school, other kids were always taking my things.

woodhill · 16/07/2022 20:44

I don't think I have

My dh was conned into handing money over to a scammer to do work on the house

DelilahBucket · 16/07/2022 20:45

I've had family money stolen by my then partner (yep you read right!) He then blamed it on my nephew.
I had a well worn water bottle stolen at a hospital which was very weird. I got up to go to reception to ask a question and left it on the chair. When I went back a minute later it had gone. Who on earth steals a second hand plastic water bottle?!

FlamingGoat · 16/07/2022 20:48

Showing my age but the VW sign off our Beetle .
Plus money and a ring at different parties and a mobile at work and a mobile in the pub.

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind1 · 16/07/2022 20:50

A bag of cat litter from outside my house about a year ago and I think that's about it.
My Dd used to steal money constantly but she has PDA.

Once we had a bottle of milk stolen from the doorstep. But that’s it.

Oh, actually that’s not true - I just remembered another one. I once had a scarf stolen in a restaurant. I was really annoyed as well because it was basically valueless but I really liked it.

Skinnermarink · 16/07/2022 20:53

Oh yeah actually my dry cleaning id just picked up got stolen from Starbucks when I was changing my baby’s nappy in the loo. It had a pure wool blanket and my decent winter coat in it.

so in hindsight quite a lot and all on my home turf! Never abroad or anywhere but London. Odd.

barbrahunter · 16/07/2022 20:57

I have had 2 rings stolen from me, at different points in my life. The first was when I was 19 and I had my bag slashed underneath probably while I was on a bus. The thief must have made the cut with a knife, inserted their hand into the bottom of the bag and removed the ring which was in a box. Real traditional cut-purse straight from a Dickensian novel! And I never felt a thing? I only realised the next day.

The second ring was stolen by a neighbour who I'd invited in for coffee (lovely huh?) and I knew it was her because no one else had been in the house and I knew I had left it on the kitchen shelf.

I've also had a credit card cloned when I was in a shop, this was some years ago. And I've had my identity stolen, again quite a long time ago.

ouch321 · 16/07/2022 21:00

I think just once. My music player from my rooming halls of residence at uni while I was in the bathroom.

Never Left it unlocked again.

StrugglingPianist · 16/07/2022 21:01

2 bikes, and each time the first question I was asked was whether they were locked up. Yes they sodding were. And even if they weren’t they were clearly mine, nobody left their bike in the place of mine.

More upsetting was a lovely purple cashmere scarf in a pub in London when someone left their scratchy acrylic nasty thing on the table and took my scarf from the back of my chair. Most upsetting thing is they must have been part of the group we were with.

My sister had her steering wheel stolen once. They left all of the rest of the car intact, aside from the window they smashed to get to the steering wheel. The garage man put a massive wrench on what was left of the steering column and drove it onto the pickup truck.

purpleme12 · 16/07/2022 21:07

I had my bag stolen while I was living in Spain.
I'd just got about 300 euros out as well.
It was years ago now.
But I'm quite sure they knew I was a foreigner and took advantage of it. Obviously I wasn't paying enough attention to the bag. I never made that mistake again

TheCanyon · 16/07/2022 21:09
