Thanks all. Does anyone have a mini one? We don't need the clock/night light functionality of the big one so wonder if the mini makes it more flexible as we could take it away with us? Or is it a pain because it need charging all the time and the speaker sound isn't as good.

Mine is prz.io/gD863AQuO if you want it, DD (6) has a mini and it’s great. The sound quality is good, it’s handy for car/train journeys, it takes a couple of hours to fully charge the battery and that lasts all night (she likes the white noise for sleeping)

Can I gatecrash this and ask- how easy is it to put music onto a yoto card? Can you do it without a laptop? Is it worth the expense for an 8 year olds birthday? My daughter wants a music player and I like that the yoto is screen free but it doesn't look particularly easy to put music on and the audio books seem crazy expensive. I'm torn between getting her one of these or an old iPod touch, linking it to audible/Amazon music and trying to disable the features on it I don't want her accessing....

@Teaandcakeordeath83 it’s pretty easy, they’ve updated the app, but it’s definitely easier on a computer/laptop than on your phone. If you already have Audible though I’d maybe try a locked down tablet first to see how you get on. You can use the app without a player though and there’s loads of free content on there, like podcasts.

We love the yoto player, best thing I have ever bought for my son.
He absolutely loves it, the ap is brilliant too, I can see this being something that will grow with him and can also be used for baby number 2.
