Iv'e seen it a good few times before but it's a perfect choice for a lazy afternoon when it's too hot to do much else. Bette Davis is marvellous. Gladys Cooper had a fabulous line in loathsome tyrants. I see Dark Victory is or was also on this afternoon, so hoping to catch up with that one too tomorrow.

I am watching. It’s fab. Bette is her usual great self.

I happily sat through both and had never seen either before.
DH had a snooze then awoke to say Wow these old films are crap aren't they ? And whilst I had whiled away an afternoon quite merrily I have to agree that the melodrama was way OTT in both.

I am a big Bette Davis fan. I must have watched everything she is in. I do love the old movies from the 1940s. No cgi, no sex. Just a good story.
