Am sat outside waiting for my sons lesson to finish.

A group of (very polite) teenagers walk past. All the girls dressed for summer weather.

3 of the 4 lads had shorts, no tops on - but what caught my eye was that they were all wearing black balaclava type things. Is this a new thing? Are they supposed to be cooling or something?

No, they were plain black close fitting balaclava things - I suppose it looked even more strange with no tops on!

It's a thing near me. I think it's either 'I'm in a gang' or 'I want to look like I'm in a gang'.

Will teenage boys never tire of finding ways to make themselves look like a pillock?

I've never seen any round our way locally but we were in Manchester in the Arndale centre and there were loads of teenage lads in them. They weren't doing any harm but I found it so intimidating. I didn't like it.

I've seen a few teens like that, but never without tops on, they sound ridiculous!

Oh btw the teens in the Arndale did have their tops on 😂. It was a few weeks ago and pissing down with rain.

Christ, they are bloody awful. I'd also feel pretty intimidated if a group of guys were coming towards me wearing those.

I suppose it's one way to hide the pimples and bumfluff.

Ah, but takeitandleaveit we should be broad-minded of course, every generation when young should be allowed to dress in any way that they see fit so that they can look like pillocks.

Literally short-lived in this heat. So young too...tragic.

This trend seems to be gaining traction in my area, although I suspect it may pause shortly due to the heat.

I've noticed kids wearing these a few times over the past few weeks, I think they're things you can wear under a motor bike helmet? So guessing that's where the cool comes from. It looks SO odd tho, especially with the weather right now!
