Wonky coving

I've just had plaster coving fitted (after months of trying to get someone to do it) and they've not done a great job 😢 it's not lined up at the joins well at all, and they're so obvious. What can I do to fix them? Can I polyfilla over them and sand them down? I'm gutted.

Get them back to put it right? Was it a specialist firm or a handy person.

A handyman who claimed he was able to do it... have tried for months to get someone to do it but have had no responses or told not available for the job, so had to go with him - it's been so frustrating!

Not sure how he could put it right, it's up and can't be taken down...

Can you post a pic to show the problem? I've put up coving in a few rooms now ( amateur), and I've used filler to cover up minor issues.

Can you put a picture up?

Really it would have been best to ask him to rectify it at the time but hopefully someone can advise OP. I sympathise with not being able to find someone to do the job, it does make you take what you can get after a time and is therefore a gamble.

Joints need to be filled with casting plaster.

Very difficult to sand as it’s so, so soft. From watching the chap who fitted mine he wet joins with a spray bottle and sort of scraped/finessed with a tiny blade.

Is it bad joins/mitres or is it also wonky?

It can be taken down. I’ve had mine amended round windows etc. However, if he didn’t know what he was doing I would be concerned he hasn’t affixed it correctly either.

Where are you? I know someone who covers South East London/Kent.
