I like coffee, but I don't like tiramisu.

I like the smell of coffee but I don't like coffee

I love the smell of liver and onions frying but cant stand liver

I like Police Academies 1-4, but not so keen on the actual police

I like eggs, lemon, oil and seasoning and I hate mayonnaise.

I love strawberries but hate strawberry flavoured things. I love chocolate but not chocolate flavoured things. I love the smell of pickled onions but not the taste.

I used to hate coffee. Then I worked as a barista for a while, and I came to adore the smell of opening a fresh bag of beans, but I still couldn't stand the taste. But after a while of loving the smell, I tried drinking it again and suddenly I loved it!

I’m with you on chocolate = good, chocolate ice cream = horrible, OP. I also dislike chocolate cake. Generally chocolatey things are just a crap substitute for the actual good stuff in its purest form.

The smell of coffee is an odd one.

Coffee shops don’t bother me, but when dh buys coffee and first opens the tin, it smells like dirty cat litter mixed with sweaty socks

Even dh agrees it doesn’t smell that nice when it’s first opened

Love pineapple on savoury food. Hate it as a desert/sweet.

This is an interesting thread, my DH often asks me how I like the components of something (e.g. tomatoes) but not the product (ketchup), quite incredulously. I'm equally incredulous that he doesn't get it!

To be fair, ketchup is mostly sugar – dip an heirloom tomato in cake icing and see if he gets it then 😆

I can't stand drinking coffee, but I love coffee flavoured things (like chocolates etc).

DS likes tomatoes and pepper raw but not cooked
I like lots of milk on muesli and Weetabix but wouldn’t choose to drink a glass of milk

I LOVE chocolate but hate chocolate ice cream.

Hate the above combined (strawberries dipped in chocolate, cherries and chocolate etc).
I love runny custard but set custard makes me gag.
Love piping hot tea but can't drink it if it's cooled too much, though love iced tea.
