DS turns 18 later this year and so I'm looking for ideas on what to get him. Haven't a clue where to start, so no budget yet, just wondering what others bought for their kids 18th.

Thanks.

Depending on his hobbies and interests you can get him either things related, or just cash/gift cards so that he would buy himself something he definitely likes.

Various tech things are pretty popular and are usually a success at this age, so thing smart watch or portable charger or maybe software subscription. There are video editors and photo editing software, or maybe something like a professional slideshow maker if he uses it for his studies.

Tickets to events or shows are always great. Annual pass somewhere fun may be an option. If there are bands or artists he likes and follows, then maybe merch from their official stores.

We got DS tickets for the British Grand Prix for his 18th, and a driving day for his 21st.
Genuinely couldn’t think of anything he’d want to ‘keep’, and he can keep the memories instead :-)

Doesn’t it depend on what he is going to do next. Is he going to uni? If so, he might appreciate a new computer or new phone or money for clothes. If you don’t know what to buy then I would say money or Amazon vouchers. Around that age we bought DS five music lessons.

Yes, I think gone are the days of big ‘pointless’ presents. Much more useful to have something relevant to what they want / need.

I got my DS a helicopter flight for his 18th and a supercar driving experience for his 21st. He loved both.

2 of mine had Armani watches, as a keepsake item
DS2 wore his at his Graduation last week which was nice to see
DS3 had a leather Jacket
