Thermometer Help!

Got a poorly boy here. He's temperatures have been consistently high and he's got very enlarged glands and a really red throat. He's just been put on penicillin.

Thing is we have two thermometers. Both battery operated ear ones. One Braun and one Alvita.

They're giving totally different readings. I'm sure I'm following the instructions for both correctly. But it's now impossible to know what his temp is!

Don't suppose anyone can advise??

Oops sorry the other says 38.5

I get they're both fevers so it's probably irrelevant. But it's just if it starts going above 40 again I'd want to know. But maybe that's irrelevant too?

Dont use ear thermomenters with a throat infection as the ears are often involved and become red and hot. a simple one used under the arm will be effective.

also different ears will have a different reading

Ok thank you. I'll just rely on giving him medicine and seeing how he looks. Thanks again.
