Hi every one. We want to move to E Yorkshire, we have everything planned, area and property etc. We will be retiring soon so do not need to worry about work too much, I work for the NHS so hoping to get something part time. We are from the south although have been coming to E Yorkshire for years. My husband's aunt lived near Bridlington for 50 Years so we are very familiar with the East coast of Yorkshire.
We are here on holiday at the moment and i went into a local shop. The women at the till were chatting away and were all smiles until I opened my mouth and tried to join in the conversation...they looked at me as if I was talking a foreign language and the atmosphere changed. My worry is, will we be accepted in E Yorkshire and be able to make friends. This is the only thing that is holding us back. Does anyone have any experience of moving from the South of England to Yorkshire ? and if so did you manage to integrate and make friends. Thank you for any thoughts 🙂
