Thanking my mum

Has anyone got a poem or a verse that I can use to put inside if a thank you card for my mum?

She's my carer and right now she's working overtime as my carer because I was in hospital, have a herniated disc and was discharged with a catheter as my saddle is numb and my right leg feels.dull. like I can feel touch but the touch isn't as strong as it is on the left leg if get me.
So she's currently coming to my house by 6.30 every morning to help me get the kids up and ready for school. Then she takes the younger two DC to school, DS1 makes his own way. Then when she comes home she helps wash me and my hair, get me dressed (I'm also disabled and the pain from the herniated disc is making bending impossible) then she cleans my house top to bottom, sorts the laundry, helps me make necessary phone calls as I'm autistic and struggle with those, to chase up my care. She goes to the pharmacy to collect medication for me and my DD, she went to the hospital today which is a 7 mile round trip for more catheter bags. If she hadn't have bumped into my uncle who gave her a lift she'd have walked it all that way for me even though she has arthritis herself.
After she's helped me with everything she preps the evening meal, collects the younger 2 DC from school, brings them home, dishes up food then heads home to sort out her own house and make sure her cats are OK. Her husband and my brother are there but one of the cats is unwell and will only let my mum administer his medication without a fight so she feels she has to do it herself.
So yeah, my mums pretty damn amazing.

To thank her I'm making her up a hamper of treats for afternoon tea at home (scones, cakes, a variety of tea, flapjack, biscuits and hot choccy, posh coffee)inside the hamper will also be a personalised mug, some of her favourite chocolate bars, a t-shirt I know she'd love, and a magnetic poster with "rules for the cats" on it which I know will make her smile because she is a soft arse when it comes to her cats.
Then there's the card. I've ordered a beautiful hand made card that says thank you on it. But I've no idea what to put inside of it.

That's where you lovely lot come in
Help me to show how grateful I am and how much I appreciate her help and support

That's so lovely op, you've been through so much and your mum sounds amazing.

I did a Google search but some verses were coming up a bit twee- I thought something like this is nice

"My Miracle Mother

Mom, I look at you
and see a walking miracle.
Your unfailing love without limit,
your ability to soothe my every hurt,
the way you are on duty, unselfishly,
every hour, every day,
makes me so grateful
that I am yours, and you are mine.
With open arms and open heart,
with enduring patience and inner strength,
you gave so much for me,
sometimes at your expense.
You are my teacher,
my comforter, my encourager,
appreciating all, forgiving all.
Sometimes I took you for granted, Mom,
but I don’t now, and I never will again.
I know that everything I am today
relates to you and your loving care.
I gaze in wonder
as I watch you being you—
my miracle, my mother."

Your Mum must love you so much. She sounds an amazing lady.

She is amazing. I don't know what I'd do without her.
Funnily enough though as a teen I despised her. Thought she was a boring old boot who.didnt want me to have any.fun or freedom
In reality she was trying to.keep.me.safe
But if someone had told 14 year old me that my mum would be my best friend when I got older I'd have laughed in their face.

Your post made me quite tearful. It is the sort of thing that my mum would have done for me and that I hope I would do for my kids. Make sure you let her know that you love her. My mum has dementia and doesn't even recognise me half the time I visit her so don't keep anything back, tell her as often has you can how wonderful she is.

HerRoyalHappiness · 14/07/2022 23:16

Aww I'm so sorry. It must be heartbreaking to see her like that. Flowers

I tell my mum every day how much I love her. I love her circles. Because they go round and round and never stop. I'm so incredibly lucky.
