Hey everyone.

I’m currently in A&E with suspected appendicitis 😪have been in a lot of pain since last night. Feeling really anxious and worried about potential surgery..

Looking for some positive stories from anyone whose been in hosp with this? What to expect.. Or just some hand holding 🙏🏻

I had it many years ago, removed via surgery- recuperation was fine, felt instantly better post op.

I understand the worry about any surgery, but for the surgeon it is a routine operation and it sounds like whilst you are in pain you are not in acute danger so hopefully you will be out the other side and at home recuperating soon.

Sending some virtual hand holding, it's a horrible time and totally understandable to be worried about surgery. I've had mine out and the recovery was absolutely fine (plus I felt a whole lot better when all that gross infection had ceased!)! I'm also an anaesthetic practitioner who's seen a LOT of these and it's totally routine to us. Not much help to you because it is absolutely not routine for you - but hopefully some reassurance that it'll pass by as nothing but a grim memory in a short while!
You're in the very best place right now and they'll take good care of you. You'll be right as rain soon enough!!
Sending lots of positive thoughts your way! X

Thank you all, it’s so helpful to hear your positive stories😍

I’m still waiting for results of a CT scan. They’ve given me some lorazepam to help me relax a bit as the pain is bad and I can’t take codeine.

Was supposed to be going on holiday on Saturday!
