Feedback on Vinted

I had a bad experience with a seller last week and upon messaging, I was sent very rude replies. The item was not as described and they wont allow me to return it. For the sake of £4 and the cost for me to send it back, I donated it to a charity shop.

Vinted are now asking me to leave feedback.

My question is, if I leave feedback (probably 2/3 stars to say not as described and not pictured), can the seller leave me negative feedback too, even though I've done nothing wrong?

I think they don't see your feedback until they're written yours

I can see feedback from buyers before I leave mine in return.

You don't have to feedback though do you? I recently bought some clothes and they were fine, but the seller had said 'very good condition' and some of them had slight staining and smelt a bit odd. I just didn't leave feedback as I didn't want to put anything negative.

I'm not 100% sure but I think they can leave you negative feedback too

See I thought about leaving it but they will get 5 star feedback back saying sale completed successfully.

I'm really annoyed at how rude they were to me and how the item was not as described and pictures manipulated to look like it was in excellent condition when clearly not

They could leave you negative feedback but I'd leave your own anyway to make other buyers aware!
You should have raised a dispute with Vinted at the time and they would have advised you to return it as they did with something I sold to someone. However she didn't return it (somehow a button broke on the dress in the packaging but no idea how and she wanted to keep it but raised a dispute with Vinted so made it an absolute nightmare of a sale)

Oh is that what happens if you don't leave feedback? I didn't know that, hmm.....

I did raise the dispute with Vinted and they said the item was to be returned, however the seller ignored all correspondence and refused to accept the return. They were being very rude and basically laughing at me for wanting a refund for such a small amount.

I told them I wasn't going to return as it would cost me more to send it back than what it cost (I have to pay own return postage) and they knew this so it was left at that.

I just think it would be really unfair for me to receive negative feedback when I've done nothing wrong :(

That's to say once Vinted obviously messaged them that's when they turned rude

@prixa ah ok. It's a tough one isn't it but ultimately all you can do is leave the feedback honestly for what service you received. As it was a dispute though I don't think it's automatic like normal. I left a review for the buyer but they didn't for me and it didn't give me automatic feedback

prixa · 14/07/2022 21:19

I've had a look at their previous feedback and for every negative review, they have responded with a negative review saying something like "buyer left me a bad review etc etc", so I just know I'd get one back. I'm just going to leave it. Not worth the hassle

Why not leave negative feedback? That’s the point, to warn others and ensure sellers are honest and honourable.

Julie007s · 10/12/2023 14:49

Yes . I left a poor review as the item description was deceptive. They then left me a 1 star review because I complained. They shouldn’t be able to see reviews until both have written buyer and seller has left them.

Luckypoppy · 10/12/2023 14:51

You can usually comment on the feedback so just write revenge feedback and state the issues if they leave you bad feedback.

DrivingonIce · 10/12/2023 14:53

for every negative review, they have responded with a negative review

So they are habitually grumpy arses who get negative reviews.

Julie007s · 11/12/2023 07:38

Absolutely 🙂

This. It's the only way to weed out these sellers. Vinted is terrible for buyer protection.

monsteraa · 11/12/2023 07:58

Leave the feedback, OP.

Seller feedback is a lot more important than buyer feedback anyway.

I always look at seller feedback before buying something.

But if someone buys my stuff, I never bother to look at their feedback.

Honestly wouldn't worry about it and as people above have said, just comment and say it was revenge feedback.

The Vinted system is a bit broken not to have addressed this 'revenge feedback' issue. It should be that no one sees feedback until they have given it.

RaininginDarling · 11/12/2023 08:09

I get the anxiety about leaving negative feedback but unreasonable people leave a wake of disruption behind them and its helpful to know. Useful as a buyer but also as a seller.

Personally, I would like the option to cancel a sale if the buyer has a list of bad reviews. (I will do that anyway if it's a more expensive item and they they're troublesome/argumentative cos life's too short for added grief)
