Ring doorbell

Am thinking of getting a ring doorbell but am pretty confused about the different models.

I know I want wireless but other than that I’m a bit bamboozled by the differences.

Does anyone have one? Can you recommend one?

Can't actually recommend it yet as it has only been delivered today but just bought one on Prime Day down to £60 from £90 with a free Echo Dot thrown in.

😂 that’s why I’m looking

I've got a Ring 2. Its hardwired & I.homestly can't see what extra advantage a dearer one would be. Its the one that @marmitedoughnut mentioned. Id definitely recommend it

We have a eufy and it’s good. Night vision is clear. It also records wirelessly rather than on the actual device so if someone wanted to erase evidence they can’t just steal or break the unit itself. It tells us when it’s low on battery. There is a bit of a delay when someone rings but only a couple of seconds or so

This is a daft question but how do you know when someone rings it? Has it got a chime too or do you need to buy a chime? Also can you link it with more than one phone?

When it rings your phone chimes and if you've an Alexa that rings too. You can buy chimes - we got one free - but it's fine without it.

The app Rapid Ring is quicker for seeing whose there.

Thank you!

We have separate chimes through the house. Often phone is in a different room or or on silent anyway.

I've got mine connected to my Echo show so when someone rings the bell it shows the doorbell camera on the screen

I haven't got a chime. My phone & Alexas do the job

I have a four I love it, my front room it upstairs, so if someone is dropping a parcel off, I can tell them to leave it at the door, saves me rushing. Also I love it for the extra security. X

Thanks for the tip about Rapid Ring. I've now installed that.

Definitely get one in the prime before midnight. As long as you don't open it you can dwell a couple of days.
You also have to pay a subscription fee annually if you want the recorded videos or something. I'm hopeless with tech but it did alert me to a potential burgulary.
