Help me find this cheese

We love cheese and buys lots of it. But there's one that I've only ever seen in one place and would love to find - but the internet doesn't think it exists and I'm starting to doubt myself.

L'Eclerc in St Malo has an amazing blue cheese (thought it was Roquefort but entirely possibly not) that is so liquid they serve it by spoon in a pot. Any idea at all what it might be and whether it can be found in this country?

My local food hall sells "scooping gorgonzola" which they sell in a pot, obviously that's an Italian cheese rather than french but they might sell it in l'eclerc

This is it! rowcliffe.co.uk/cheese/casarrigoni-scooping-gorgonzola

Thank you - shortest but most effective thread ever. My brain had Roquefort and gorgonzola unhelpfully confused.

I love it when Mumsnet does what it's best at and finds the answer to a random question that is really hard to Google! Glad to have helped Smile

Genuinely so happy to find my cheese: my quality of life has been improved this morning. And kicking myself for not even thinking of Gorgonzola!

I highly recommend it to anyone who likes blue cheese who’s never had it by the way.

If you want a supermarket variety st agur do a blue crème in a tub which is pretty tasty. Different level I'm sure but easy to pick up in Tesco for a couple of quid

Thanks but I’ve already done an online order. Happy to prioritise funding for cheese on this occasion. 😁

Great choice. For future reference though it's a pretty tasty liquid blue cheese. I like it on burgers and with steaks as well as for dipping with bread, crackers etc

Doubleraspberry · 12/07/2022 13:13

It sounds like an excellent back up option, thank you. Especially for burgers (although I am a sucker for the orange melty squares as my cheese love is a very broad church!).

Ah yes, chess love spans all types. I particularly like the plastic cheese on a muffin with egg and bacon (McDonald's inspo). The st agur is possibly the plastic cheese version of your scooping Gorgonzola which I am now inspired to try as I love Gorgonzola!

theemmadilemma · 12/07/2022 13:24

I was off to ask the other half who is French. But you have the answer.

Funnily enough he eats a lot of Gorgonzola. Grin

Much cheese fun to be looked forward to here. Other cheese recommendations are welcome.
