We were quoted £50k to replace our 5x4m existing conservatory with a loggia style one (with a semi solid roof). No ground works involved. Thought it was a lot(!)

if you go by the £2k per square metre rule anyway.
the only reason I’d go for a conservatory with a solid roof would to be to cut cost but if it’s not far of the price of an extension there’s no point.
