What's the easiest way to cook 2 chicken thighs?

Single person living alone here. I am beyond crap at turning/cooking them in the frying pan with a dash of oil as my boyfriend does so well. They spit everywhere & are underdone & overdone in places. Any other suggestions?

Skin on or off?

I put them in an oven with with a little olive oil and salt. Cool for about 45 mins on 180 fan oven. Could be easier.

Chuck in a small slow cooker with some onions, peppers, tinned or fresh tomatoes and a courgette or similar. Some salt, bit of sugar and some paprika. Pop in in morning, ready when you come home. Cheaper than running the oven too.

Cook in oven.

I always feel bad putting the oven on for the sake of two pathetic thighs..

Poach them in stock. Extremely difficult to overcook, always moist and tender.

Happygirl79 · 11/07/2022 19:20

Stick them in the airfyer
Cook for 20 minutes

Clevs · 11/07/2022 19:27

I grill them.

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind1 · 11/07/2022 19:31

You need an air fryer, crispy skinned, juicy chicken thighs with salad and blue cheese dressing.
Yum.

Arenanewbie · 11/07/2022 19:31

Brown them in a deep pan and then add whatever you fancy: any chopped vegs, small tin of chopped tomatoes, beans, splash of red wine and maybe splash of water - any combination of this but you’ll need some liquid. then cook them simmering for 25-30 minutes.

Oven is great for them. Why not cook more, then have leftovers cold next day or freeze them.

I put a layer of potatoes and olive oil at bottom of cast iron pot. Put chicken on top, sometimes add peri peri marinade. Then put lid on and cook in oven for another 45 min.

Means you get chicken and potatoes all cooked together which is delicious.

Shove it outside in a metal tray By garden is hotter than the sun 🌞

PickAChew · 11/07/2022 19:38

Take the bone out, flatten them and grill them or use a frying pan.

Or do what I did today, as it's so damned hot and sticky and buy ready cooked ones 😂

MintJulia · 11/07/2022 19:40

Add salt, pepper, crushed garlic, put them in an oven dish, skin side up and roast for 45 mins at 180.

jackstini · 11/07/2022 19:42

What are you having with the chicken thighs?

Do that in the oven too

I often do a huge pan of roasted veg if I'm using the oven - some for that meal then freeze, add to pasta, stir into rice, soup...

Danikm151 · 11/07/2022 19:46

airfryer!

LesLavandes · 11/07/2022 19:53

I live alone. Thinking of buying an airfryer. Which small one does anyone recommend? Thanks

Yodaisawally · 11/07/2022 19:54

Traybake in the oven. I can't be doing with grilling and frying they just make smoke / heat / mess.

DuarPorte · 11/07/2022 19:55

No use to you but as a household who hasn’t used their oven in many months thanks to the air fryer - the notion of using electricity to keep an oven on for 45 mins (!) is scary!

but thighs should be easy poached, grilled or baked!

LaWench · 11/07/2022 19:56

Airfryer or Halogen oven, lots of seasoning. Place on foil for easy clean up.

Get the largest you can for your budget. Have a look at Argos, Amazon, very - see where the offers are, what the reviews are. If it’s one person and you don’t entertain a small 1.2 litres I guess but I’d always suggest getting the largest you can afford so you can do multiple things at once.
