Has anyone done the Bodycoach?

I seriously need to lose weight and get fit, it's gone too far 😬

I loved Joe Wicks PE, it was the perfect time and level for me, and was wondering whether to sign up for the plan. Has anyone done it and how does it work? Would a month be enough to get an idea?

Money's very tight, though there's an offer on atm, so I was thinking of just doing the free You Tube workouts instead.
I have no willpower or food wisdom and am a bit lazy.

I did it and didn’t rate it but I have to stress this was a few years ago. I was starving. I remember shaking with hunger at work one day. I’d asked questions of my coach but it took days if not weeks for them to come back to me. I emailed to say I was starving and got an immediate response which made me think their emails are set to pick up on certain words. They told me to increase everything by a certain percentage, say 25 as an example. I asked for an updated plan and they said no, just add 25% on. I’d spent a lot of money joining and asked how do you add 25% to an egg, do I eat one or two. The coach couldn’t answer. I thought it a bit off they couldn’t give me a new plan with up to date portions on it. I also found a full prep day on a Sunday a bit of a slog

The exercise was fine. I liked how they were short and I could do them as and when. The Facebook group was very good and encouraging.

as I say, things may be different now as this was a few years ago now, just before Covid.

I bought the 90 day plan - put weight on. Thought the app might be better. Put on more weight.

It’s nowhere near personalised enough.

There are loads of JW workouts on YouTube, why don't you do one a day for a month (day off a week maybe) and go from there? You may find you don't need to pay for a health eating plan.

Thanks for your replies, this is not good news about the meal plans! It's good to get an idea of how it works though.

I'll maybe try and work my own meals out, I'm so terrible and unrealistic about food. I remember Slimming World from years ago was loads of carbs and Muller Corners though weirdly I did lose weight with it.

@LadyChamberlain Yes, that's a good idea to try the workouts first, I'll see how I get on!

You’ll lose weight if you have a calorie deficit. You can achieve that by cutting carbs or fat.

Joe Wicks meals for me - pescetarian - were far too carby.

I went on to lose 3 stone in 3 months following a keto diet. Now I weight train and am focusing on protein to build muscle and lose fat.

SeaMeat · 10/07/2022 19:55

@OnceAgainWithFeeling 3 stone in 3 months is great!
I've just looked up Keto and at first I thought it sounded mad - what do I replace carbs with?? - but actually I think I could do it short term, or at least their cyclical version, 2:5. It would be good to have 'rules', rather than me just guessing 🙄

I signed up, found the plan to be very limiting in terms of the meal plans as no one in the house would have wanted to eat the majority of it. So we had to cook a separate meal for everyone else in the evenings and I had young teen girls at the time and didn’t want to tell them I was following a ‘diet’ plan etc as it’s not a great example to set… I wasn’t majorly overweight, just wanted to tone up and shift a stone and a half really. I never bothered with stage 2!
i wasn’t hungry at all, I found it to be lots of food for me and I have always done HIIT classes of some form.

This was about 5 or 6 years ago though!
