Felt great on Thursday until 8pm when I started to feel faint and sweaty. My stomach started churning. I felt similarly all night and on Friday had diarrhoea, went hot and cold, sweats, shakes, exhaustion. I slept from lunchtime until the following morning other than a half hour here and there. I had a packet of ready salted crisps, some dry Shreddies and Dioralyte. Diarrhoea continued yesterday morning but by the afternoon I felt better so I ate more dry Shreddies, another packet of ready salted crisps and the same sized portion of dinner as my toddler (chicken with vegetables). Just had awful gripping stomach cramps so I thought I'd wake up this morning feeling fine once they passed. No, I feel worse. Had diarrhoea over night and first thing this morning, and it's not stopped all day other than when I took a nap for a couple of hours. I've been to the loo six times in 90 minutes. I'm trying to eat more as I'm actually hungry but whenever I do it seems to trigger more cramps (like early labour) and more diarrhoea. I've had one slice of plain toast, a sandwich made with one slice of bread and two digestive biscuits today. I also sipped some Lucozade over a couple of hours. I usually eat much more than this.

Now I get that Immodium isn't recommended when you have a bug but I'm just so sore and miserable right now. Would you take it at this stage of the illness? I just need a break and to keep some food down properly. I don't want to prolong this but I'm just miserable lying in bed on a hot sunny day.

No. I'd be letting it run its course
I'd be drinking flat lemonade and eating salted crisps, crackers

I tried an Imodium when I had campylobacter as my bottom was so sore but it was a big mistake - I would say you have to let nature run it’s course as horrible as it is

Oof that doesn't sound good. I'll brave it out. It seems to hurt even when I just drink water. 🤒
