Pizotifen for migraine?

Posting in chat for traffic.

Has anybody tried this? I'm 23 years in and tried ALL preventatives and cures, far too many to list.

My GP thinks I should try them, I'm at the end of my tether with migraines - 15-20 a month and am overusing triptans.

All experiences of Pizotifen would be appreciated - thank you.

I take them for cluster headaches after trying many others, they have reduced both the pain level and occurrence. I would not be without them.

Dd is 13 and just started on it. She's been titrated up to 1 tablet twice a day as although they'd lessened, she was still getting them. Got my fingers crossed that does the trick.

@procrastinationstations
I know this was posted back in July, but how have you gotten on? I've been on it for 2 years now, was only 0.5mg then had to beg for them to up it and only got to 1mg and now this week I'm on 1.5mg.
Was diagnosed with severe migraine, cluster headaches and trigeminal neuralgia back in October 2020. The neuro waved me off with pizotifen and I haven't seen him since 🙃

They dont work for me. I've been struggling and honestly they haven't prevented anything at all.😭

My daughter takes them for hemiplegic migraines. She takes them at night.

She gets the odd one from time to time but the effects are manageable.

Before taking them she was having them weekly and she would lose her sight and the feeling on one side and have problems talking, being sick for hours. It was effecting her schooling. She had a brain MRI as she was so ill with them.
Pizotifin has made a huge difference to her life.
