I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently!

What foods or flavours just go really well together, savoury things?

Here are some of my faves to give you an idea of what I mean:

eggs, tomatoes and cheese,
cottage cheese and all crisps especially monster munch,
chicken, chorizo and paprika,

😋

There's a great book about this, called The Flavour Thesaurus (by Niki Segnit). I love looking through it for ideas when I'm cooking.

I really like coriander and I whack it on everything

It looks nice and I love the taste of it

Works well on any salad and any curry

Ooh thanks! I’ll check that book out.

Cheese and marmite😋

Chilli lime coriander
honey soy chilli
salt and sweet …. Feta and watermelon

mint in salads

herbs, spices, citrus, burnt butter all make a huge difference as does a bit of crunch…

and you can’t beat ready salted crisps and salted peanuts.

Coriander is also delicious in a cheese sandwich, preferably in crusty baguette.

I like
garlic, chilli, ginger with it without soy sauce
Lemon, olive oil, salt & pepper
Tomatoes, onion, garlic

Skinnermarink · 16/07/2022 09:32

Ooh, smoked salmon and horseradish, amazing

ChickenDinnerChecky · 17/07/2022 09:51

Haven’t tried chicken and tarragon. Will get some today to try!

Cheese with apple, sounds horrible but a thinly sliced Granny Smith in a cheese sandwich is delicious.

A squeeze of lemon juice in some savoury dishes, especially curry, really lifts the flavour.

FlowerArranger · 17/07/2022 11:20

Fresh coriander, mango, bell peppers, spring onions, chilli, lime juice, S&P.

Makes delicious salsa
