Is anyone training for an October marathon? What are you doing about training over the next 2 weeks?

Just that really…

I have the London marathon coming up in October. It’s my 5th marathon, but my first post having kids, so I’m not expecting to get a PB. I’m up to 11 mile runs in my training. Not sure what to do over the next couple of weeks though while it’s super hot.

Advice v welcome!

I'm not training, but if possible run early or late before/after the sun gets strong.

If you're needing more fluids/ fuel than usual, leaving supplies at a point/ in the car and looping back to it works well. 8 or out and back + shapes work well to vary on laps. It's also an easy escape route if the run gets too overwhelming.

I'm getting out at 5am. The heat is tolerable and the pavements have cooled down overnight so they're not throwing heat back in your face.

None of my training runs exceed 2 hours for the next couple of weeks so hoping the weather breaks before that changes.

I'm running with a hydration vest too.
