Nude underwear to wear under the wedding dress?

LoveGherkins · 09/07/2022 10:50

I'm getting married soon and need to find some underwear that wouldn't be visible under my wedding dress. Where would you recommend getting one? I went to M&S this morning but there's nothing suitable.

I have my fitting on Wednesday and need to act quickly. any advice would be much appreciated

I wore a Wonderbra Ultimate Strapless bra under my wedding dress. Sloggi does good nude pants I think.

LoveGherkins · 09/07/2022 11:20

@MinnieMountain - thanks for getting back! I have just placed an order for collection from M&S. I like Sloggi. but they ones I'm looking at has a brand printed!!! rrr 😤

Underwear is totally dependent on the dress style and fabric, how low the back goes, in built cups and support etc. what sort of thing are you needing?

Bah! Why do they mess with things? My pants were M&S, so they’ve clearly stopped being good at the basics.

PuckeredArseFace · 09/07/2022 11:37

Ask the wedding shop where would they suggest ?

LoveGherkins · 09/07/2022 11:43

@Alexis7890 - so this is the wedding dress.

@MinnieMountain - most of my pants are M&S. I did end up ordering x5 different ones for pick up tomorrow.

I also ordered some Intimissimi ones. different colours so to make sure i find the one that suits me most.

@PuckeredArseFace - they suggested me M&S. I'll take all my pants and go to my dress fitting and then hopefully will decide which ones are best.

How thick is the fabric? In terms of visibility a dress like that is more about making sure you can see any outlines of the underwear to maintain the smooth silhouette

LoveGherkins · 09/07/2022 12:08

@Alexis7890 the top part is really thick but the bottom is not so much. i agree on the outlines. however, you can see the underwear when against the sun. however, 2 times i tried it i had white one and other time it was too bright as well (I probably should have though about it when going dress shopping itself)

Wow !

kegofcoffee · 09/07/2022 12:22

What a lovely dress.

If you've got a good seamstress you shouldn't need a bra. I had a similar style dress and the seamstress sewed cups into the dress.

Take a bra with you to the fitted just incase, but don't take the labels off just incase you don't need it.

kegofcoffee · 09/07/2022 12:23

Oh, and I don't think I wore pants Blush

LoveGherkins · 09/07/2022 12:26

@kegofcoffee thanks very much. I fell in love with it too (the fact it was on discount helped of course)

no need for bra. the top has a corset so that should be fine, just the knickers..

Sainsburys TU do Sloggi online

MissMaple82 · 09/07/2022 12:44

I think anything is going to be visible in that

Branleuse · 09/07/2022 12:48

Try tkmaxx. They are good for shapewear

HippeePrincess · 09/07/2022 12:49

I probably wouldn’t wear any, but you’ll need something ultra no vpl and nude or red are better for not showing through than white.

wonkylegs · 09/07/2022 12:55

I got mine from Debenhams although they aren't what they used to be. I'd also give John Lewis or Next a look.

Rosecoffeecup · 09/07/2022 13:01

Beautiful dress. I'm not sure I'd wear any pants under that....I think anything would be visible?

If you dont want to be commando, something like this maybe?

SummerBummers · 09/07/2022 13:03

I think you need to be without underwear in that dress. I mean, it is stunning, but surely anything would show through?

ItsSnowJokes · 09/07/2022 13:07

No kegs. No matter what you wear you will see them. And as most people will be staring at the back of you for the ceremony it's not worth the risk

LoveGherkins · 09/07/2022 13:07

@Rosecoffeecup - I am seriously considering wearing nothing.. not sure how practical this might be but if can't find anything suitable then this is my option

I was looking into something like that as well. Will see ho my fitting appointment goes ..

Depending on your skin colour (if very very fair) sometimes the lightest pink is less visible than "nude".

LIZS · 09/07/2022 13:18

Or look at dance shops like dance direct for invisible underwear.

Glittertwins · 09/07/2022 13:23

No suggestions however what a dress - it's beautiful!!
