Passport validity worry

Hello

Pls can someone advise as I'm sick with worry now

My kids and I are meant to travel in 10 days .we have DUAL citizenship so we would use our African one on our way out

However I just realised that my 4 yr old's BrITISH PP would be valid for just 5 months on our RETURN ( it is valid for 6 months and 2 days when we are going out though we do not need to present this )

Do you think the airline would refuse to take us even though we are coming back to the uk ?

I think OP you have been unsettled by the fallout arising from the EU having new post-Brexit validity criteria for people entering Schengen with a British (non-EU, now) passport. That is, someone going to a DIFFERENT country than the one for which they have a passport.

I am not aware that ANY country has criteria for letting its own citizens back in, bar obvious stuff like being able to prove you are actually a citizen. Which a current passport would be.
