Can you relax while the baby sleeps?

4 month old baby. I usually do housework while he naps and then if the house is looking relatively OK I try to do a big job like sorting cupboard under the stairs or sorting out the wardrobe. Anyway I seem to have done all the big jobs and the house is clean and tidying so I'm just sat watching the telly while DS naps. Feels so naughty!

Good for you! My baby is 4 months too and when he naps I tend to sit in silence and stare into the middle distance. Sometimes I play Candy Crush. This is why my house is always a mess.

No. And DH can just laze about and play a computer game. I just look around and see things that need doing.

He’s at nursery this week ahead of me going back to work and I had visions of lying in bed with a face pack on eating chorizo and reading Take a Break.

I’ve just bleached the bins and am currently tidying the airing cupboard, I feel ridiculous but I can’t stop.

Enjoy it! My 4 month old will only nap on me or if we’re out in the pram, so only the most urgent housework gets done, turbo speed to the soundtrack of a grumbly baby….

I realised once my DC were a bit more active that I should make the most of nap time to just relax and it helped keep my sanity. I never felt that I shouldn’t relax before DC so that view didn’t change after but there’s just less opportunities

My baby is only 2.5 months old so don't have a proper routing yet but I try to balance it out eg one nap I'll do some cleaning another nap I'll read my book.
