Cat vs paddling pool

Any tips on how to keep an inflatable paddling pool from being punctured by a cat's claws?

Cat is at least part Bengal & has no fear of water (likes to go fishing in ponds) so will not be deterred by the presence of water 😬

I don't know but my half persian enjoyed pissing on my tent, it smells awful now.

We have to keep the door closed every time we fill the tub because one of our cats will come running, excited to jump in for her swim. She loves the water so very much and has stolen so many perfectly drawn baths over the years when a door got left ajar.

depending on the size and how much effort you want to do,
I would either get a large board
or
make a cover with an elastic edge, sort of like a fitted sheet, to go over the pool.
