No claims discount and named drivers

Hi
It's car insurance renewal time in our house. As I was the one who originally started sorting it, I have always been the policyholder with DH as named driver. We only have one car, which we drive equally.

I've wondered if he should accrue his own NCD (eg what if we get a second car at some point ~unlikely~ or if something happens to me) but didn't really see a way around it.
Was about to sign up with LV and noticed they have a way to transfer the NCD to the named driver; or for me to be named driver and him to be policyholder but still using the benefit of my NCD.
Is there a point in doing this? Would this mean I then have no NCD?
Googling wasn't much help but I did find a forum that suggested switching named driver every year...
Anyone know the best way to tackle this?
Thanks

Yep switching policyholder and named driver every year is a popular way to do it. Depends on the relative costs of insuring each of you though.

In our case DH has many more years of driving experience than me so it's always cheaper to have him as the policyholder than me, even if I have NCD and he doesn't. Also our premiums are quite low so the NCD isn't actually huge anyway!

Thanks very much.
The price is exactly the same either way.
Sorry to be thick but this way, would my NCD go to zero again, as I have transferred it?
