Should I step down?

I am a moderator of a social group. The overall organiser has been taking a social media break. Today 2 members thought it was ok to invalidate another members feelings as they had to cancel an event due to ill health and the members said try being Deborah James family and that puts things into perspective in comparison to this person's ill health. I deleted the comments and suspended them for 24 hours.

One of the moderators who doesn't like me told the organiser which he reactivated his account and unsuspended the one and reinstated a comment. I feel like stepping down from being a moderator as I am being undermined and he thinks it's ok for someone's feelings to be invalidated. Just a waste of my time and energy.

Yes I would. Let them deal with it if they think behaviour like that is acceptable. I think what you did was fair.

I'd step down as I wouldn't want to be undermined like that or be associated with 'approving' that type of conversation if I wasnt allowed to delete it.

Yes step down this is not a role that you are suitable for.
Also no needs to validate anyone's "feelings " nor should someone be banned for not validating someone else's feelings.

Yes, the organiser undermined you. I would tell them that, and then see what their response is.

Thanks for your replies. I stepped down as I don't want part of that type of culture.
