I’ve always enjoyed cooking and we eat well. But I’ve probably been eating more ultra processed food than is good for me. And I’m sure my kids have too. So we’ve been cutting down, and I think I feel better and a little trimmer.
We always cook from scratch, and I’m happy to bake our own cakes etc. And I’m not going to get too worried about the odd Colin the Caterpillar sour chew (erm, for example, in my glove box), a bowl of ice cream or a few ginger nuts. But prepacked lunches in a supermarket car park and too much reliance on cereals and factory bread have been reevaluated.
Anyone else cutting down on UPF, for health, money or weight reasons? How has it been? I’m finding bread difficult, as we only have time to bake at weekends. This weekend DS and I made bagels. It took 24 hours from start to finish!
