Lasagne

If anyone has an overwhelming urge to find out what it's like to drop a Carluccios lasagne straight out of a 200 degree oven onto a bare foot then let me know.

I have some experience in the matter.

I bet you scooped it up and put it back in the dish , didn't cha ?

(On the way to the cold water )

That has to sting !

SlowHorses · 04/07/2022 21:37

First thought - OUCH!!! that’s gonna hurt.

Briefly followed by - damn shame and waste of a good lasagne!

Are you ok? I’m imagining broken foot bits and burns?

dudsville · 04/07/2022 21:39

That's a special kind of disappointment you've got on your floor there.

Luckily about a third survived and it was bloody delicious! Particularly gutted as I was revelling in the fact that I got it reduced at Sainsburys from £7.50 to £1.89. Lots of cleaning up and blisters have now come up.

Leave the clearing up and get some cool (not cold) water gently running ovr those blisters. The fat in a lasagne sauce holds the heat very well .

Take a photo of your poor foot , if you can-raise it .
Any infection signs don't muck about , get medical help asap
The skin on the top of the foot is quite fragile

userxx · 04/07/2022 22:16

I once dropped a baked potato straight out of the oven onto my foot, the potato split and the flesh stuck to my flesh. Fuck me that hurt.

FTMFML · 04/07/2022 22:19

Oh dear, you have my sympathies! What a tasty painful mess!

If it helps ease the pain any- I recently treated a lady who had spilled her boiling green tea over her lady bits(including pubes) I’ve never had such difficulty trying to dress and burn in all my years in the ED, but the poor lady.. I’m sure she wished the ground would swallow her up!

Matildahoney · 04/07/2022 22:20

Possibly a bit late now but if you have any tomatoes sliced them up and run them lightly across the burnt area, a tip from a chef I used to work with.

Ducksurprise · 04/07/2022 22:25

Don't run tomatoes on it, or butter. Tepid water only, keep using the water until all the heat has gone from the foot.

mumda · 04/07/2022 22:28

Deepest sympathies on the loss of much lasagna.
Hope your injuries heal quickly.

Autienotnaughtie · 04/07/2022 22:31

Ouch!! And the insult of having to clean it up!!!!! I once pick an iron up on the metal part and yes I'd switched it on 😩😩 why didn't I use the handle??!!

Covetthee · 04/07/2022 22:34

ouch!! If you have any sudocream lather that on. Helps massively

DeanStockwelll · 04/07/2022 22:37

Years ago I was making a curry , I'd had is on a very low light gor about 2 hrs when I went yo move it off the hob the handle and pan parted company the pan hit the floor so hard the curry splashed up onto the kitchen ceiling and all over the cupboards.

My sympathy to you @MisterT373 I hope your foot heals quickly.

LoudingVoice · 04/07/2022 22:38

Ouch! Hope your foot is ok!

If it makes you feel any better I once left hair straighteners on, on the floor and managed to stand on them and clamp them around my whole foot 😫

Do not do this

Floella22 · 04/07/2022 22:41

I’m making lasagne tomorrow for my guests, I’ll be nervous now.

Although first we have to get through the visit of the pest man who’s coming to deal with a hornets nest in the chimney! I may leave the village. house whilst he’s here.

Hope your foot calms down.

Do not do this

It literally says on the tub you can use for minor burns. I believe hospitals used to use this for burns so nothing wrong with it at all

MisterT373 · 05/07/2022 10:27

Thanks for your advice and kind words!

This is how it appears this morning.

CloudPop · 05/07/2022 10:30

Bloody hell! That looks very painful. Hope it clears up soon

Ducksurprise · 05/07/2022 11:03

Nasty, you should cover that.

Must admit this thread was a lot more interesting than I was expecting from the title (sorry op)

SummerHouse · 05/07/2022 11:09

I once zipped my actual self into my trousers. Thankfully it was a side zip. The worst part was the terror of the unzipping.

You have my absolute sympathy OP.
