Modelling at 16

DS was recently scouted by a model scout and we are going into the agency to have a chat next week.

He's keen to do some modelling if possible. I've researched the agency and it turns out to be a major one and I've also double checked that the place actually is their offices. So it all seems legit.

He's only 16 though so I don't really understand how it works- he's about to start his A levels so it's not really something he could do instead of school and aren't under 18s required to be in education or training anyway? So how can teens do modelling?

Obviously we can talk about this when we go in but I just wondered if anyone had any experience or pointers. I'm really unsure about the whole thing to be honest. Also it's such an early stage that it may well not happen (which would be my preference but I'd be gutted for him, if that makes any sense).

It's not really a full time job, he would be expected to continue his studies alongside it, but auditions and traipsing round to clients could eat into his lesson/study time

Good luck!
My DD has signed up with a couple of agencies, but they are both constantly looking for new models. We’ve had no luck with work yet. I’d be interested to hear how your DS gets on and which agency you went to.
