Blooming bluebottle in my house!

Just sitting down with a coffee minding my own business and suddenly I could hear buzzing so got up to investigate to see it was one of those dastardly bluebottles!

im trying to put it out the window but I can’t get hold of the bugger, it’s too quick for me! I hate them with a passion 😫

They infuriate me.
I opened the kitchen window no more than a couple of cm the other morning and 5 seconds later a fly was buzzing around.
How come they can find their way in through the tiniest gap but can’t find their way out of a wide opening if a patio door?

During lockdown we were doing bits in the garden and did click and collect of a loads of bags of manure from Wickes. I can only assume there were maggots in the dung because we had dozens of them flying about the house (new ones every day) for about a week. Horrible things!

We have fitted roller fly screens on all our windows and it was so worth the money - haven’t had a fly indoors all year .

@Floralnomad do you mind telling me which screens?

We can't seem to open a window without at least one bombing about the place

DH bought himself one of those electrified tennis bats. He's spent the entire weekend channeling his inner McEnroe and actually not managing to hit a single fly.
It's great entertainment though.

Thank goodness I eventually got it out. They make my skin crawl. They are so filthy and riddled with germs, i just can’t stand them.

it actually landed inside my dishwasher and was about to land inside my fridge when I opened the door to get something out of it 🤢

We got ours from New Blinds , they are the roller midge blinds . My husband fitted them and it’s fairly simple . Excellent customer service as well .
