When a false rumour about you.... catches up with you at inopportune moments.

I've nothing against lesbians and count a few amid my dearest long term friends.
I've nothing against born again christians, or lawyers or women who announce that they cheat on their husbands when they meet you at the school reunion.

But I do know a woman who claims to be born again, (pentecostal) a lawyer and likes to boast about her adultery.... who has.... since our school days.... sent around crazy false rumours about me, without me knowing.

One of them is that I "made a pass" at her husband before the wedding. (didn't happen) and another is that I am a lesbian... (yes, it doesn't add up does it)

At my father's funeral, my good female friend attended with me, and it was assumed that she was my "partner".... which made for some very confused conversations. We traced the false rumour back to .. guess who. Apparently it had been doing the rounds for ten years!

Ignore ignore ignore and don't give them the time of day.

YetanotherPGCEdropout · 04/07/2022 01:35

I could do that.... or..... I could write a novel.

I want to tell you to ignore because that's the sensible thing to do. But I'd tell her to eff off in no uncertain terms and I would feel tempted to tell everybody she's a dickhead and that she made a pass at me and I told her to fuck off and she was offended because I'm straight. Tell everybody that if she repeats this you will be pressing charges for defamation. I would also be tempted to call her up on this in a very very public setting with all the people you have in common... like a very public picnic/party now the weather's nicer! I would raise a glass for a toast and then let it rip.

Or you could just write a post about it on Mumsnet and wait for DF to pick it up.

excellent Oceanus!!!!😎
DF doesn't do motherhood Jizt..... she does "drumming in the woods" as part of her born again christian thing.👻

Hmm, this is awkward as I am an antagonistic prick sometimes and I'd fuel the rumours tbf. Like when we had builders fitting the bathroom and my best pal was staying with me for a while, I offered the builders a brew.and they told me that lesbians make them sick and we were all sorts of wrong. So my pal being the gal that she is, smacked me on the arse and announced that we were off upstairs for a shag.

Fuck the small minded people.

Jesus. This actually happened. Recently and in the UK? And your reaction was to make a joke?
