Help - Does Anyone know Greece well?

I'm trying to sort the last leg of a journey to Athens. I am arriving on the ferry from Bari into Patras and thought it would be simple to get a bus or train onwards from there. Half the google results say it takes about 30 hours and half say it takes about 3.5 hours. I'm so confused. Are there two places called Patras? And, if so, how near to Athens is the Patras where the ferry docks?!

Any help very gratefully received. I thought I was a confident traveller but I'm having a late night panic!

Typing into google "Patras Ferry Port to Athens" and it comes back with 2 hours 23 mins by car.

A quick look on trip advisor also says it's around 3 hours by bus and around 5 hours by train

Thanks, yes that's the map I saw. I don't have a car (with us, that is, we have one in the UK!) and the bus info seems to vary from 'none available' to '1 day 6 hours' to 3.5 hours. I think I do have the right Patras though and it is the one on the map you've posted that's the 2.5 hour drive. I think it's because I'm trying to book it online. There are instructions for just turning up and buying tickets and they seem to fit with the location and expected time much better. I'm over thinking, I think. Hopefully it's quite easy, really.

Thank you for your reassurance.

If you search for it in trip advisor, people have left reviews on how to do it, though its not always recent. Hope you're having a brilliant holiday though!
