I wonder whether anyone else has things they wish they'd had the confidence/insight to complain about in the past...
Here's one that sticks in my mind and still makes me cross, so I'm writing it down to get it off my chest (pun not intended):
- I was a postgrad at a uni - hell, I'll name the uni - Uni of Birmingham. I had a baby. I had to bring the baby in when I met my supervisor. I went to the uni bar, and asked if it was OK to feed my baby in there. "Yes", the barman said, "of course". I sat in a corner and unostentatiously breast fed my baby. Barman came up and said "I didn't realise you meant THAT. You need to leave or stop". Apparently some men in the bar had "complained", and the barman agreed and asked me to leave - so I left, embarrassed. This was about 14 years ago, so hardly in the dark ages. How did I not think this was something to complain about, especially at a university??
Anyone else have anything they wish they hadn't just let pass, which they'd like to write down?!
